Reading and Thinking Retreat at Life House, Wales
23.07.19
Join other friends of The School of Life and Living Architecture on a long weekend of contemplation, reading and new horizons.
Available dates in 2019 -
20- 23 September
22- 25 November
Designed by leading architect John Pawson, the house is a space for retreat and relaxation. The house has three ensuite bedrooms, and ample communal areas, including a very large kitchen, dining space and living room - and a room called the ‘Contemplation chamber’, buried deep in the hillside.
Normally only available for group bookings, this weekend is a unique opportunity for 3 individuals or couples to experience the Life House, whilst also taking time out from busy lives for a weekend of self-discovery, with the help of the School of Life Library of specially selected books on everything from the Importance of Being Nice to Small Pleasures and Great Thinkers.
Daytimes will be spent quietly reading, or enjoying walks in the beautiful Welsh hills. Evenings can be spent in conversation or further solitary work.
Living Architecture founder Alain de Botton will suggest post-reading discussion topics for this group of open-minded, curious guests, as they spend 3 days and evenings together in this spectacular house.
The rate is £450 per room (single or double occupancy). This includes the full ‘School of Life Library’, worth £90.
